Explore Hewenden

Walking

The advantage of being surrounded by ancient bluebell woods is that the walks start from your doorstep. With 11 acres of private woodlands to explore and some truly spectacular walks through the valley to the 30ft waterfalls of Goitstock – you’ll be sure to take back some wonderful memories and some very muddy boots!

Cycling

Whether you decide to walk or cycle across the newly re-opened Hewenden Viaduct you’ll find breathtaking views of the mill, valley and beyond.

Fishing

With a private beck, punctuated by trout filled pools, all set in the most tranquil and beautiful woodlands – fishing might seem like the most idyllic way to while away an hour or two.

St Ives Estate and Playground

Nearly in the valley, St Ives Estate is only a stone’s throw (2 miles) from Hewenden and is fantastic fun for all the family. The tree lined recreation area is amazing and will entertain children of all ages.

A stroll through the woodlands is made all the more magical for the enchanted tree sculptures and the cafe is great for light lunches or afternoon tea. Horse riding and golf are also available at St Ives.

Fun for the kids (and the kids within!)

Hewenden is a wonderful place to create family memories that will last a life time. Duck racing has proved enduringly popular with both the young and the young at heart – the excitement of trying to catch multi coloured plastic ducks in small fishing nets as they come bobbing downstream is irresistible!
